Hello! Did you have access to the build to create this documentation?
I see there's no mention of steamcmd but you're suggesting to do the installation of the dedicated server via Steam itself - is it because you know steamcmd isn't going to be available at launch, or it's an assumption for now?

ok appid for the dedicated server is 4129620 in case it's useful for steamcmd users

Usually dedicated server hosting is done through steamcmd

small feedback on this:
it nice to file the app_id of steamDB with is: 4129620
and the location of the the JSON files: {installation_location}\R5\ServerDescriotion.json
and {installation_location}\R5\SaveProfile\Default\RocksDB{version_id}\Worlds{id}\WorldDescrtipion.json

Actually i'm not sure if the binaries are linux compliant so ptero might require using wine which complicates a bit the setup

ah using AI to make an egg... dentge

Sure that will not have any issues

well i think it's a great way to deal with the boilerplate indeed but i'd expect to be able to understand how an egg is defined to correct the hallucinations indeed 🙂

@here even though I selected "Tools" I don't see the Windrose Dedicated Server in the list, I was following the guide, what did I miss?

Sorry I'm a bit new to the whole "create the initial image for selfhosted dedicated servers" but am I correct in assuming that the PR for game-egg https://github.com/pterodactyl/game-eggs/pull/515 is the first step in the work for creating a docker image that can then be easily deployed by everyone or is this game-egg PR for use when hosting on a windows machine?

I have fairly good knowledge about docker but what is the best way to contribute in creating an image for dedicated servers?

been trying to run this egg, but not having much luck. pretty sure its due to how pterodactyl requires binding to specific ports, however this uses upnp. not sure if anyone else has been successful?

# lapis bough yea would like some help, thank you

When i create the server it seems to be running but connecting just times out. locally and externally. i do have the server bound to port 7777 in pterodactyl as it forces you to use a port and tha tis the first allocation i had free. upnp is set up on my router, tried disabling ufw on the server. not sure what else to try?

@lapis bough have you tried the steps in FAQ? https://playwindrose.com/faq/ possible your ISP is blocking you. Essentially you can forget about the port Ptero assigns, the game will do it's own thing.

I already run Satisfactory on 7777 and Windrose is a random port, still works fine.

Above isn't right, Windrose is on 7777, Satisfactory I've had to move ports.

Don't think it's isp. The initial connection gets made, but then the Check consent fails... Reach timeout 10000 ms. Played a bunch with the router but still can't connect

Looks like they got a fix in hotfix tomorrow and more coming, hopefully they'll sort it.
