I have seen the player clothing being talked about as “sets” does this mean they will be ‘skins’ or can individual items be worn and swapped around?

The latter. You’ve got slots for hat, bracelets, body, pants, and shoes. Right now, if you equip a full set, not only do you get strong combined effects, but it also looks cohesive and cool. Style and stats go hand in hand 😄
