this is to help identify weather a skill has an actual elemental attribute.
as an autocaster sometimes i question myself if as skill like soul strike is actually holy since it doesnt have the round thingy with countdown when casted unlike other elements

i just learned that soul strike is neutral all this time i assumed it was holy.. see this is an example of why i think implementing those element thingies as part of the skill description would help a lot in decision making
