Handy (But Not So Obvious) Shortcuts

  • T: Mirror objects while placing
  • Right Mouse Button: Reset to select tool
  • Tab: Switch toolbars

**Expert Extractors
**You can connect Extractors and draw conveyor belts through them, reducing conveyor clutter when mining Polyrock.

**Auto-Tunneling
**When dragging conveyors over blockers or other operators, tunnels are automatically placed, streamlining your factory layout.

**Powerful Copy Tool
**Did you know you can copy massive selections by clicking and dragging with the copy tool? Great for duplicating parts of your factory if you just want to make more of the same. Operators retain their configurations when copied, accelerating construction.

**Destroying is not always bad
** Because deleting things in Modulus returns 100% of the funds. So clean up that factory 🙂

**Place Buildings in line
**A single conveyor belt can supply multiple buildings. If modules accumulate on a belt, connecting additional buildings can balance production.

**Resources are endless
**Extract that Polyrock early on! It’s there and it will never run out. Start making cubes early on and you’ll have plenty of resources to cover the whole map in buildings

**Experiment Experiment Experiment
**There are millions of ways to make modules. Have you tried combining two cubes into a 8x4x4 cuboid first? Perfect for those 8 high modules.

**Paint first, ask questions later
**Painting a module with the painter paints EVERY voxel of it, regardless of the size of the module. If you want to save on paint, use it early in the process before cutting up your modules in smaller ones!

Understanding Operation Speeds
All operator speeds are expressed in operations/minute. When you take this into account, it will help you make your factory efficient. For example an extractor works at 30/m and a conveyor belt speed is 120/m. This means 4 Extractors perfectly fill up one conveyor belt.

**Optimizing Furnaces
**An efficient Furnace setup involves four Extractors feeding into one Furnace input. Since eight Polyrock fragments produce one cube, this ratio maintains smooth production.

**Mastering the Stamper
**Have some fun with this one. It can stamp out any cuboid selection from any module. This one really lets you create modules in a myriad of ways and is very powerful if used correctly.

Note: This is a demo build of Modulus. Many features are still under development. Enjoy experimenting and refining your factory!

Omg the paint tip!!! Never thought about it ! + You can avoid clogging your production with the paint time !

Also you can create bigger block before painting 8x8x8 will made a fair amount of 4x4x4 blocs colored . You only need to set a machine that will cut it down 🙂

The text for "place buildings in line" isn't clear. Do you mean for supplying multiple cranes for different buildings perhaps?

#

The text for "understanding operation speeds" is incorrect, at least for the un-upgraded elements. And presumably if you're looking for tips, you're early in the game, so this could be confusing.

Does it returns floor upgrade cubes tho

Preplace counters:
Don't know if someone else does this but the counter calibration time annoys me so i have a small island section of counters already calibrated.
So if i need one i just grab it from there. Yes it will not be immediately on the actual new throughput since its average will be increased from zero but you immediately get an impression based on how fast it is climbing allowing less wait time while building. Note that a counter will loose its calibration once its output is removed so on a counterchain, remove from the input side.

Don't use it as much anymore since i can visible tell the speed but comes in handy especially for verifying the odd speeds.

Oh cool... I thought when you move them or change what the input/output was it resets anyway--I guess not?

the input is irrelevant, as long as it has an output.
But the calibration time seems to be somewhat global per item so once its over, you can technically leave it stranded, after reconnecting to belts it will immediately resume displaying.
If you copy instead though, that is a new item that starts its own calibration time.

Ah I see. So you specifically move a counter to somewhere else with an output for it, in one move. Cool 👍
