I don’t really think toggle crouch gives the kind of advantage you’re describing.
For small holes, walls, or jumps you still have to decide when to crouch and position yourself correctly. Toggle crouch doesn’t automate that — it just changes whether you hold the key or press it once. The timing, movement, and line you take through the map are exactly the same either way. You’re not gaining speed, u/s, or control that other players don’t have access to.
The autobhop comparison also isn’t really the same thing. Autobhop actually removes a mechanical input requirement that directly affects movement and speed, which changes gameplay. Toggle crouch doesn’t affect movement mechanics at all — it’s just an input preference for the same action.
The “pressing fewer keys is always an advantage” argument also doesn’t fully apply here because both options are available to everyone. If someone prefers holding crouch they can do that, and if someone prefers toggle they can use that. It’s similar to things like different keybind layouts, scroll vs space for jump, different sensitivities, etc. Those are all preferences players choose based on comfort.
And realistically, for top times the things that actually matter are lines, speed control, and consistency, not whether you’re holding crouch or toggling it. Toggle crouch doesn’t change the skill ceiling or give extra mechanics — it just makes crouching more comfortable for some players.
If anything, removing toggle crouch would just take away a QoL option without actually improving fairness or gameplay.
