what do your nameplates look like, you got platynator or vanilla? it can help to increase teh size of your rupture or garrote aura on the nameplates, if you're having trouble tracking how many mobs you CT'd to

and then they just end up casting like 10 deathmarks in 35 minutes

it lives the whole duration

pristine cd window

we'll say that's 100%

now lets say the mob dies with like 5 seconds left on deathmark

that's 2/3rds of your deathmark

66%

but you didn't hold, so you got an extra cast

would you like two casts of 66%

or one cast of 100%

dont try and make all the changes at once
