https://www.warcraftlogs.com/reports/PRHLXzq9MNa4bdcw?fight=5&type=summary just came back from a break since season 2 and decided to learn sub rouge(previously have only really played outlaw and unholy dk) and have really struggled with damage and was wondering if anyone saw big problems
It's a 4 so, not really going to be a lot of in depth feedback. From a quick look it does seem like you're leaning into the outlaw mentality of pop everything all the time when you have it. That's not how sub works
I would recommend reading some of the sub rogue guides, like on wowhead and spending some time on training dummies.
Sub rogue has big damage in cooldown windows and mini bursts in between, can't just send when you have it just because
Prime example is this, general rule of thumb is if you're going to SecTec, you'll want dance and symbols but, you popped dance way after
There's lots of glaring issues and quite frankly, you'll be better off rereading the guides and trying to understand rotational priorities
Alright
I feel like I understand the rotation when at a training dummy and I’m not far off my simmed number but everything falls apart in a dungeon
Yeah I wanted to wait but with how low my ilvl was when I first came back I couldn’t get accepted into real keys so I just tried dropping my recent dungeon
Yeah, I can get that, stuff will also just fall over for the most part so might feel weird compared to being able to have a target the entire time with the training dummies. Just have to be patient and know that there's times where you just won't do damage if you have nothing, better to wait for an actual mini burst window than to desync your cooldowns the entire key
There's exceptions to that but, should learn the fundamentals first
Yeah it’s weird playing it coming from other specs where I can just always press a button
I mainly played unholy last season and it was pretty obvious where I was going wrong when I felt like I was so the improvement process was a lot easier but I’ve been lost with sub, but I would like to main it
If you haven't done so, spend the time and read your talents. There's a lot of stuff that people overlook and don't understand in the rotation because of not knowing what passives and stuff they have
