To provide good context. As long as you have Branch/ashes + passive/mydas you’re good. What is the most important is playing your cooldowns correctly and learning the different dust timings for each boss.

Sub is not a spec that you send things on CD as they come up. Your cds are essentially pre-planned before you even pull.

You also need to practice how to pull CDs. In a fight like Volcoross its not good to wait for flag and blades to come up naturally.

Additionally, you’re losing a SHIT ton of dmg by vanishing before Secret Tech.

You severely missplayed youre dmg windows.

To help in your understanding I would recommend checking out the sub faq, and looking at the cast sequence of some of the top volcoross logs.
