Ok, thank you
and then you can paste it here for review
OK, so you want to download the WarcraftLogs app
do you have it?
I do!
and then make sure you have Advanced Combat Logging on
I did that, i made sure I had the logs on
then you just click "live log" in the app, and do some content in the game.
then, in the app, stop live logging
and it will compile the log into a readable form on the website.
ok, should I try that on a dummy right now?
before you do that
you need to type
/combatlog
in the chat box
and make sure you get something that says "combat is now being logged to x folder"
or else the log wont work
dummy is fine for now, once you get your rotation down a bit better, dungeon or raid boss logging can help more in the future
whats the error?
An unexpected error has occurred: "Line 1 - This log was created without Advanced Combat Logging enabled, and is not supported on Warcraft Logs. You can enable Advanced Combat Logging from the Network pane of System preferences in-game. Delete your log file before enabling Advanced Logging, or this uploader will continue to refuse the file. - 11/27 21:03:38.984 COMBAT_LOG_VERSION,20,ADVANCED_LOG_ENABLED,0,BUILD_VERSION,10.2.0,PROJECT_ID,1"
yeah
go to system preferences
in your options
in game
and enable Advanced Combat Logging
It is on
now you need to navigate to your log folder
where the log is recorded
and delete it
so first, go in the game and type /combatlog
this will turn logging off and it will compile the log as a file, which you then will delete
Ok got it
then type /combatlog again, and start livelogging!
you have an account with warcraftlogs right
Yeah, I had to exit out of wow to delete the log
yeah
yeah i assumed you were not the affliction warlock
oh yeah, you arent taking advantage of crackshot at all
do you have it talented?
I do have it, no cooldown for bte?
yeah
you are casting a lot of dispatches
if i were you, I would give the #outlaw-faq here, as well as the wowhead outlaw guide, a long read
to understand your rotation more
!guide
Rogue Guides:
WoWhead: https://www.wowhead.com/classes#rogue
Icy Vains: https://www.icy-veins.com/wow/class-guides
Method: https://www.method.gg/guides
@stuck chasm when i use this command in the thread it says "icy vains" for some reason
Rogue Guides:
WoWhead: https://www.wowhead.com/classes#rogue
Icy Vains: https://www.icy-veins.com/wow/class-guides

those are the guides
Will do, sounds like i completely missed the mark with my roation...
but yeah most of the mistakes are pretty basic ones that you should consult the guide and faq for. once you feel like you have figured it out a bit more, definitely come back for another review.
but icy veins is under review, seli is fixing some things
vains
its spelt wrong
is all
oh
Man I really apprecaite all of this help, seriously
Is there a way I can send you some gold as a tip?
dont worry about it lol
ima get you back some how.
So I am just missing a key part of my rotation/subclass
yeah, for the most part i would recommend you try to learn outlaw with the "hidden opportunity" build, as it's a bit easier to understand than KiR
but you were hitting cleave dummies, with only 40% bladeflurry uptime. you weren't taking advantage of crackshot at all. you didn't have slice and dice up for the first half of the log. you used echoing reprimand at full combo points. you finished at 2, 3, and 4 combo points a few times.
@native beacon these are the main mistakes i saw at a quick glance. again, in all the guides they go over these and explain the rotation in depth.
I was running that one at first, but I saw that KiR was better for DPS
trust me, i think you should play hidden opportunity as you learn the basics, it is a lot less stuff to track.
For sure. So I need to focus more on my bladeflurry uptime, start actually using crackshot, and keep Slice and Dice up.
I thought for Echo I use my finishers on the combo points that are blue?
Ok so I AM using it correctly?
Understood, thankfully Hidden Opp doesn't use that
yeah, hidden opp is easier to learn with, espeically not worrying about KiR is nice.
So I switched back, immediate increase in DPS, but still missing some stuff. I'm gonna keep working on it for the next few weeks and I'll come back when I feel like I'm actually good
good to hear, a good tool to use is priority list in the faq here or the priority list in wowhead
