I hate being that guy asking for other people to handhold, but I'm having a hard time analyzing myself. I know i messed the opener (I almost always do) but what are some other mistakes I'm making here?

Yeah it's more gameplay that's my question. I'm aware that my gear needs some work, it's a process I'm working on slowly. Just for example a light movement sim of my char as-is comes out to 122k, and my Rashok performance (feels like light movement is a good approximation here) is 105k

I don't expect to perform @ sim, but should be closer

I did get wrists crafted and a ring is next on my list

Your opener is wrong, you used flag during dance, you used feint during dance. I know you need to survive on prog but try if possible to not use feint during dance

Try to use shadow dance on 0-1 cp so you can press gloomblade as first gcd

#

Sec tec should be your 2nd finisher, not first

#

Im seeing some dances where you press it as first and some as second

Definitely work on your opener though

yeah I almost always mess the opener, but I try to get better with it over time. I'll try to focus on that a bit more

I try to sectec 2nd finisher in dance just sometimes ig it comes off cd and just send it right away

One thing thats helped me is using a potion and shadow blades macro

Its ok if its off cd for a second or two. Send it as 2nd finisher

The only time it can be 3rd or 4th finisher is if cold blood will come off cd within your dance window. But for now focus on just making it your 2nd finisher

yeah i think it's just a reaction thing where i just see it pop and once cp is enough i just zugbrain and hit it

Your dance windows on ST with The first dance talented should look like this. Shadow dance, gloom, evis, shadowstrike, sec tec, sstrike, evis (if at 5+cp)

Basically dont press dance and then evis immediately

If you can get your opener down and your dance windows down 100%, then that’s basically most of sub rogue

dance+ss (change to dance+gb?, just kill entirely?)
Sod+SB
gloom+bomb
cb+secteq+bomb

I only macrod dance+ss because I was having a hard time getting full usage of the window (missing abilities/gcd)

Thats fair, if it gets to a point where your fingers cant reach certain keys in time, id suggest changing keybinds or forcing yourself to press them in time and develop carpal tunnel

I can't stand buttonmashing like a madman so i'm probably just behind the gcd a lot and my brain gets into that button pressing pattern

The only part of sub that requires button mashing is the opener, after that its pretty chill and easy

You can for the time being if it can help you work on other things. I would just suggest to then move away from it later or do what the faq suggest and have another button

Gloomblade in Shadow Dance: Gloomblade can be used on 4 or 5 combo points during Shadow dance to preserve the Premeditation buff or generate a DM stack.

And even then if you press vanish, you should never gloom right after

this is my first expansion really playing sub for raids I was generally always outlaw(combat) or ass. Outside of slam dunking for ghuun

Its advised to not press vanish outside of dance unless you need the teleport to get back to the boss

What i usually do i Dance- Gloom- Evis - Shadowstrike - SecTec- Vanish - Shadowstrike- Symbols - Evis

Do not press vanish strike if you arent going to get an evis off within the dance window though

Lets say you’re a little slow during dance window and you have 1 second left of dance, dont vanish strike. Save that for your next dance window

You’re not losing dps as long as one vanish is on cd
