If anyone can help. I'd super appreciate.
I am a returning player from WoD, I have over 1,500 hours played in Combat, and struggling hard in Outlaw. From what I can tell, I am not using Ambush/Dispatch enough. I need to produce significantly more of them.
I feel like I fully understand the rotation, I feel like I could describe it from memory, I have weakauras set up to track relevant procs and abilities, but parsing grey on WCL, when I used to parse top 100 US back in the day in WoD/BRF. From what I can tell, it seems the only difference between me and other outlaws is they are squeezing out like....30-50% more ambushes and dispatches. My uptimes are all well above 95%, but idk. I get rekt. I have modified my spellqueue window, etc, feels like the game cant keep up. I run a dance + opportunity build but swapped ghostly strike to blade rush to try and make things simpler. Didn't really improve. I also dropped greenskins wickers for a 2nd point count the odds.
Can you explain when to use ambush?
I use ambush with vanish on cooldown. I use ambush whenever I have an Audacity proc, but not an Opportunity proc, it becomes my priority combo point builder. I do not use Ambush when at 5CP or more (might be wrong about this one)
with vanish provided no audacity proc**
You're not using vanish or shadow dance nearly enough
You should pretty much never cast sinister strike if these cooldowns are available
I thought I need to hold dance for when i do not have audacity or opportunity
meaning less dances
this is true
i know i need to be more on top of it outside of that, vanish also
but i think that is happening a lot more often than you think
i think you might be right
I raid lead so
Its very possible I am missing things while leading raid
Wait, those parses are when you are raid leading?
Your build is wacky
I'm running the dance + HO build from here but I swapped wickers for a 2nd count the odds, and dropped ghostly strike for blade rush for simplicity's sake
i was trying to just make less things for me to track, if that makes sense
You're using a single target build which only applies to Terros
And Dreadblades which is a dps loss to press
And no acrobatic strikes
Use this for like every boss
https://www.warcraftlogs.com/reports/yL4KDdhjHpZcnQqm#fight=12&type=damage-done
well my terros parse isnt much better
which build is this ?
But you can remove Cold Blood for some utility
This is the first recommended AoE build in #outlaw-faq
oh, i should be using it for all raid situations
Which basically the entire playerbase uses
i think my highest terros DPS might be like.... 45-48K in H at 400-403 ilvl
About ambush, you see audacity up and you need to build cp? You press it, dont care about opp that much. See faq for nuances.
I misspoke cngk, I do prioritize Audacity above opp
No yeah I think you are way distracted
I think you know the basics but executing them consistently doesn't happen
like, pressing sinister strike during audacity should never happen
i think it might just be my brain pressing something while im looking at omniCD or doing calls etc
You should never press sinister strke unless you have no audacity, no fan the hammer, no vanish, no dance, no nothing
okay, so sinister strike is basically crusader strike for paladin, i didnt realize it was absolute lowest
do you feel like you are lagging?
Yes omg
Especially when I am in a high CP generation window, it feels like my game is breaking apart
feels like it cant keep up lol
i run a very strong PC, dont think its that, but ive even lowered all my settings
I think raid leading on this spec is ambitious
Do you think a different spec would be more beneficial?
yes, outlaw is pretty much the fastest paced dps spec
i mean im sure it can be done
My RLs are always tanks or healers though xd
I did know that already, I just figured maybe there was some glaring issue
I have always played melee lol
hmmm, maybe I should take that advice. Plenty of people are giving it
about an easier role or spec
Especially since we are progressing through Mythic
It just feels like every other global is pressed on accident
like triple ambushes and double dispatches
I think thats whats happening also. tbh I got a new keyboard because my old one was double pressing keys
As soon as you cross 6cp you should use a finisher
i thought i was just typing too fast but its not doing it anymore on new keyboard
Are you using a weakaura package?
My WAs need to tell me as soon as I hit vanish or dance conditions or I will forget
On my rogue, yes, but I also have custom auras with sound
oh
i dont have those
those would be really good
Would you mind sharing those ?
I track audacity/opp/cooldown timers in their own little priority area with sound and stuff, i do have a general tracker for my energy and stuff from afenar(?)
I cant at work
Ah sorry didnt realize
But I think it's good to customize weakauras to your needs
My shit has to glow for BtE uptime, cooldown conditions etc
I cant get by with just seeing info
yeah mine is nowhere near that built out but I feel like it would seriously help
If you could share whenever you were available to, that would seriously help me. I learn best by seeing it in action first
I don't use a WA to tell me when to reroll though
I do, but I also know the rules more or less
I also run count the odds so
depending on what happens, I have plenty of buffs
Also glacial fury is worse than tepid phial
in all situations?
Your weapons have poor quality enchants and no primal whetstones
yes
Glacial can be close on single target only
Yeah I am leveling my enchanting 😦 lol
why? just buy them
You're right, ive just always ignored profs and wanted to finally level one in DF
so I have been making my own enchants at lower quality for the exp
Maybe not for the main eh
nothing stopping you from leveling enchanting but also come prepared to prog raiding by buying proper consumables
Also your trinket is macro'd into dreadblades
You should macro it into between the eyes if anything
but also that may cause you to hold onto the cast unnecessarily
So it's best to just have a bind for it
Sorry, work got me also. You're definitely right.
I'll try this feedback and see what happens. If you happen to have those auras for vanish conditions and such, I'd love to see how it works so I can make my own. Thank you for the help!
Oh you can grab it from this https://hastebin.com/share/irulekabum.css
Also I use this to see how many mobs are in blade flurry range https://hastebin.com/share/tumarafabu.css
