#Palmer - Log Review

Not my best pull of the night, definitely - but sub 2% wipe so it's the most complete fight. Would love some feedback, as I'm not hitting my ST potential of 80k and I want to make sure that I can step up in all damage profiles
your dance->Striking a lot despite being talented into GB - this is causing a lot of CP waste.
You basically didnt have premed for this fight because of it.
there will always be some waste from seal fate/the builders due to the rng of WM procs etc but premed and dance should always be 0 waste, especially with TFD, the dance sequence is scripted and if you are hitting them right you will never overcap on those abilities. Strike also looks a tad high to me and im seeing a lot of finish-strike-strike-finish in your dances so a gentle reminder we finish at 5+ in dance, 6+ out of it.
Gear wise, check your ST sims if you have a better trinket than Whetstone - its not bad but it generally falls behind trinkets that have mainstat on them in ST, even if its a higher ilvl.
For trinkets, I don't unfortunately - I've had really shit luck with trinkets
its a little hard to see cause wowlogs wnt let me choose colors but you also end up desyncing your CB from your sec tec
What should I do if not dance into shadowstrike? I dance into GB?
pink- cb, orange is st
Yup; the dance window with TFD is:
I think this is because I am casting feint - It's not that it's desynced it's that it's macroed, and I'll get to 5+ CP, hit the macro during a GCD, then feint, then sec tec again
enter dance at 0CP+GB->evis->strike->sectec->[strike to build 5+->evis to finish at5+]
we'll come back to this
finality rupture usage looks off too - you want to have it so that you're dances all have a finality boosted rupture ticking for their duration (minus the first one cause we need to send cooldowns asap).
gimme a sec here this one always takes me forever to draw
I don't think I've ever actually payed attention to this
so in this graphic, the green bars are your rupture casts, the blue are your dance casts; I've highlighted two scenarios near the start because i think they'll explain the idea behind the optimization the best.

This covers scenario covers two dances: the first dance in it is done fine, you refresh your rupture into a finality one w/ ~9s left on the original duration giving you basically a full pandemic on your Finality. this is aces. the problem here is the 2nd dance. Your rupture has ~40s of duration left, and it was cast at ~20s in, so when you hit your next dance at 50s, you actually have a full dance window (probably about 9-10s) of your empowered rupture already running still. You can choose to refresh rupture after that second dance, instead of doing it before as you do there.

here you just let finality drop, and never got the buff back. you do this a couple of times, i tried to mark where your ruptures are empowered with fs.
It can be a bit awkward to say "you should do this or that" because of how mistakes snowball. I would suggest starting with just trying to make sure you always consume the finality buff, and you can work on optimizing it after.
hmm, okay - I'll need to dig into this a bit - finality isn't something I have ever tracked
It looks to me like you're coldblooding evis instead of sectec
fuck, I'll have to check my macro then
Long time ago I made a CB/Evis macro
I bet it's still on my ST bar
Since I haven't ran ST in a month+
make sure you check your stealth bar too
yeah, I will
I thought I deleted the macro but I bet I just removed it from my bars
I had originally made it for Outlaw with CB/Dispatch, but when I swapped to Sub I changed Dispatch to Evis, then found out it was dumb and made a new one
but yeah quick recap in order of importance:
- Clean the dance window GB->evis->strike->Sectec
- CB your sectec :^(
- rupture optimizations are relatively easy and are fairly impactful
Okay, easy - thanks for going through this! Last night was my first night as ST in Sub so I knew I'd have a lot to work on.
And I'll be ST for the next two fights so it's important to fix mistakes early
oh uhh
- fix your opener
its wrong; drill the one in #subtlety-faq until you can do it without thinking
