@willow kayak until you get sword spec, whatever gives you the most dps is better. Only backstab scales with wpn dmg, so anything goes until you get sword spec. then 2xswords are better, with a fast OH sword for more procs
@willow kayak daggers will be better off with enchants for those levels, especially with fiery weapon and beastslayer

The first is nothing out of the ordinary. The tried and true variant of Hemo. The second is variation of what I have sometimes seen called Hemo saver.
The primary function here is going to be PVP. Under normal circumstances I would have immediately gone with the first spec. However, Classic is not shaping up to be normal at all. The most saturated class on all servers is Warriors. The second most saturated class is Mages. So - I am giving up damage/burst from the first spec - in favor of more control in the second spec. Brought on by improved sprint and disarming.

so i start mashing as i stealthed and on the way (slowly lul) to find my way behind the mob
so when i get there, my dagger already equiped, then mash again for ambush
then IMMEDIATELY start mashing the SS macro to equip your sword, you can equip sword during the 1 sec gcd after ambush, the weapon swap gcd will overlap w/ the ambush gcd would is ideal
if you wait more than 1 gcd to mash the SS macro, you will SS w/ your dagger instead & then equip the sword, which sucks

As horde player its not a big difference having sword specc for leveling imho, cause you got very good swords from SM upwards. Dont know how it is after getting thrash blade, but so far its very easy to level. but playing without any weapon spec is also completely fine, cause you can invest into parry -> riposte, what makes your leveling a bit smoother. And lets be honest. No one cares if you do 90 or 100 dps in a dungeon or kill a mob 2 secs faster.

Just curious I'm sure this has been asked before but not sure exactly where you'd look, as far as I know you want a slow main hand and fast off hand, when looking at your options would you specifically look at the dps/top end/speed and such when choosing one for a specific slot? For example, choosing a higher dps wep over one that has a higher potential for a bigger hit in off hand but is slower etc.

A lot of people may but even shadowpanther has you skipping any weapon spec until basically the last 5 levels. It kind of sticks you into swords only when you could find a good mace or dagger OH.
Doubt it matters a ton though
Especially with Omen, Serenity, Thrash and Vanquishers being easy to get

Now that there's been some time. What's the go to mount-gold grind? I know SM stealth runs are nerfed, but I went and grinded lazily in Library for a day and made 40-60g (plus Sliverblade dropped). The chests can have 12-slot bags (sword spec ftw once again). I got lucky and found 3. I enjoyed it and wanted to make a video guide on it since I noticed there isn't really a good one that's up-to-date. I'm only wondering if stealth runs are really worth it at this point, or should I just do fishing or something next time?

NO, SWORD SPEC. if you do your runs 38-40, the mobs don't see you anyway if you're quick. All mobs can have a tiny chance to resist Pick Pocket like all other spells, but you simple vanish, or employ your vastly superior swords/combat cds.
Forget Sub even exists while leveling unless you're RPing
It's even better if you go Nelf because Shadowmeld gives you +5 stealth skill, so its like ur a level higher. (but why forego Human if you're in it for pve)

I was watching a podcast Kargoz did with some top pserver rogues. They basically said Black Lotus farm or enchanting because stealth/solo runs suck in Classic. Might be invalid info now tho, idk
They also said you could wait in Ungoro for a party of skinners to kill a Devilsaur and then sap/blind/gouge them to steal the skin lmao 👌 😂 💯

But yeah it took me around 6 months to get to 60 back in Vanilla. Lots of distractions with world pvp and stuff too though. I just think the retail mentality that so many bring here to classic kinda just kills the feeling. Rushing to 60, trying to be 100% efficient, and passing up on so many experiences and neat things.
