Granted this testing is just in the first room where you can try out Covenants: you can put up bone spike on several dummies, go away about 60 yards to drop combat. Bone spike stays on stalwart/reinforced dummies but drops from Resolve (these are the bigger ones) dummies. Maybe the latter "heal up full" after dropping combat and the smaller ones don't even if they are full the whole time.
