Rule of thumb is to fish for it on an alt
Then use the main's pearls to upgrade.
You can buy the benthic item on an alt, and send it to your main before opening it.
Then open it on your main.

@random furnace its good 400 dps increase for me on pure patchwerk. If you drop below 50% HP then its alot worse
