most buffs/debuffs can be refreshed while a previous application is still running, as long as its less than 30% of the duration of the refresh (i.e. ~8sec with a 5cp rupture since its 24sec baseline) you dont lose any of that uptime since it just gets added
so a 5cp rupture refreshed at 8sec of a previous one (doesnt matter if that one was 5cp or not) will result in a 32sec rupture

Had to go do some stuff earlier so I wasn’t able to respond to certain things. @limber lion I would never compare my mythic parses to someone who has 2k parses. I think a lot of people missed parts of the chat where I was explaining that I think ilvl parses are viable if the person has enough parses in their ilvl bracket. Definitely not if there’s less than 1k. I get that each bracket is going to have a different number of parses, but that’s not the point I was trying to make. I’m not going to get into my opinion on logs here because I’m not trying to incite any more drama. Not trying to change anyone’s mind when it comes to that topic either. I’ve spent more than enough time to get much better gear than the 952 I have now, but unfortunately most of that is not an upgrade, and I think that is mostly due to my spec (which I am ok with). I came here originally to get advice regarding a mechanic on Imonar, and I appreciate what information I was given.That was the only thing I came here for. I was also given suggestions for certain addons/WA’s, which I also appreciate, but responded that I’m just not at that point yet where I want to deal with that. I can totally understand how that stuff is necessary in Mythic progression, but I am brand new to mythic raiding (have barely gone to 3 raid nights), and… being the stubborn person I am when it comes to that stuff, haven’t taken the time to look into those tools yet. It’s my choice to use/not use them, just as it’s any other raiders choice. I didn’t come here to complain about my gear, spec, parses on M, or addons/WA’s. I was asked why I don’t use certain addons/WA’s, and I responded honestly, but whatever I wrote obviously didn’t come across the way I meant it.
I did say the game was easy. I’ve said it a million times over the years, while at the same time saying raiding has DEFINITELY gotten harder. I didn’t think that anyone would get upset (whether trolling or not) about what I said… but that was from my point of view, and not considering others. Hence, my complete confusion on why it exploded like it did(whether trolling or not).
When I said “I didn’t say the game was easy or any of that crap at all in the way they are taking it”… I was actually trying to say “I didn’t say the game was easy or any of that crap < - - in the way they are taking it.” Meaning, I didn’t just come up in here saying offensive crap in an effort to incite stuff. This is not me backtracking, that’s actually what I meant. When I made the comment about the game being easy, it was in response to the question “Why don’t you use WA’s.” I think many of you can agree that years ago, things like WA’s (etc.) weren’t completely necessary because raiding wasn’t as hard. Now I can see why people would use them. I am a minimalist when it comes to my UI, so that’s why I like to keep it as plain as possible, and why I have yet to pick up WA’s (I know there are settings so that it doesn’t show on your UI 24/7).

If you use WA’s, that’s awesome. You probably have more time to focus on even more stuff, which is probably one of the reasons why you’re better than me… as I am sure that many of you are much further progressed into Mythic (if not cleared). I’ve done plenty of normal and heroic raiding over the years, and only 2 months ago I even considered Mythic. So yeah, I suck… but thankfully there’s people who suck like me that can add to the parse pool! 2 out of 4 of the mythic fights on my profile I was dead … due to me learning something harder than any raiding I’ve done before (and no, I typically don’t die during fights… and if I do, it’s more often than not out of my control). Being alive wouldn’t have made much of a difference, due to gear/learning, but it would have helped a little lol.
A lot of what I said probably didn’t come across the way I meant it, mostly due to the fact that I barely had enough time to form an actual sentence, let alone reread it before I sent it. That’s what happens when there are 10-15 people spamming your chat log and you are trying to respond while reading said spam. Pretty hard to go into in depth explanations/plain explanations when it’s you vs. 10-15 people. So, before I head out for the day, I thought I’d at least explain myself as I would have if the situation had been different.
