I don't think deflation is inherently bad, but as gold deflates things like transmogging are getting bumped up from nickel and diming gold out of the economy to being impractical drains, which is really bad for transmogging as a feature.

weapon types and armor types should be changed so that they are more than just a loot distribution method. your poisoned tipped spiked knuckles should have shorter attack range but hit harder... or something... want to do full plate with that? ok, but your movement speed and attack speed are reduced. With the way loot distributions work now, there's really no reason to arbitrarily lock certain weapons/armor types at all so long as the stats/perks are balanced so that everyone doesn't just throw on plate.
