I would actually suggest dwarf. They’re under-rated and can pull off the bulky armor look better than humans. But also still look good in the more trim style. For transmog they’re one of the most versatile races, very few textures are stretched,squished, or skewed significantly. Their home of Ironforge has a better layout than Stormwind(although Stormwind is more well equipped).
Also if you go with a female dwarf you’ll be one of the most rare face/class combos. Might even be able to work the streets at certain times of year to make some extra coin.

the best way to find the best transmogs on here is to use search and search for:
has: images from: Ghost#9261
has: images from: Zeruul#7845
from: MackyD#1939 9/10
for the mackyD one, you can really search for anything 6/10-10/10. jump to the post, then scroll up 1 or 2 posts to see the mog he's rating.
MackyD is the most consistent rater and he rates harshly so those should be good mogs. ghost and zeruul consistently make good mogs.
that will be a bit more efficient than just scrolling up.
you'll miss some good ones, but you'll get most of the highlights.
there are some other MVP moggers, but those are the 2 that came to mind right away.
I tried to do a search to pull up all the mackyD seal of approval mogs, but I couldn't get it to find them other than a search for all pictures mackyD has posted.

Vs the archeology one which is a minimum 16 weeks

Sub rogues are going to have a lot of potential for fencer xmogs now that I think about it. Since the current alpha build has artifact xmogs cross spec they can do a rapier in one hand and a dagger for parrying in the other.

You can xmog the main hand dagger to only dagger and if the off-hand is a mace sword or axe you can mog it to any one of those three. There’s also the option of using a fist weapon in the off-hand which only mogs to other fist weapons.
