You're not supposed to die in games like this. In solo your run ends. I think it's fine

In easy difficulties your soul spawns like in the very next area for multiplayer. In harder difficulties it's further away

and harder difficulty it gets reduced to 1 life

you kinda have one extra life mind you, one of the metaprogression upgrades is a one time use cheat death, that makes you immune for a brief moment and recovers a bit of health.

spectating for a long time is just so whack

I don't mind it
and that's still on easy where souls are closer
nightmare makes the souls go even further so you gotta learn to handle things around

the thing with souls is that they will go to undiscovered zones, so there's also a good chance to meet early if y'all are close to the end

#

but once you discover all the zones then it's gonna appear on whatever closer (in your case) zone that got discovered

but like also, my friend used to die very early in the runs but in time they got more used with the game and survive for longer

I'm running the 3rd diff with them because they're still kinda dying to some things tho we run the cceable bosses + 50% more mobs

is kinda also a good way to try to get used with the pressure

I think a lucid dream modifier that revives fallen teammates after traveling through any rift would be nice.
