#controverse question to control settings

i love the way this game plays, especially because it reminds me so much of playing moba games with the general attack movement commands and the strictly cooldown based skill system

however, after watching some videos especilly for lacerta i saw that wasd movement (or controller) allows for shooting while moving, while the moba controls force you to stutterstep since unless you hold down the movement button an attack click locks you into place. and when you want to kite backwards you can of course not hold move backwards while aiming to the front.

i tried out the wasd controls, and it feels infinitly stronger since you are way more mobile. Making that discovery i feel like gimping myself not using wasd controls but its the stutterstepping that makes me want to play the game =).

i know i can choose whatever control scheme i like, but now i have this feeling all the time, that i choose hard mode =). I am pretty sure locking character into place for attack while using wasd is an equally terrible option, but any plans to balance this? anyone else feeling this way?

had the exact same experience. rts controls autoattack lacerta is almost unplayable on nightmare because stopping even momentarily gets you killed, and anyway theres no way you can stutterstep as fast as the high attack speeds you can reach in this game. twinstick's ability to move while shooting is essential

it's not like this is an unsolved problem. other rts and moba games have this feature and it works smoothly, e.g.:
starcraft: cyclone, phoenix, diamondback
dota: razor, windranger
hots: tracer

they all work similarly, once targeted, you can keep issuing move commands and your character will keep attacking the target while moving. or they can go the survivors route where you will always attack anything within range even without specifically clicking it
