If you remember, in the zombie update, they added rain and thunder which I thought was really cool at the time, and I still do. Maybe adding certain weather for specific parts of the map could work.
Forest Map
In the first part of the forest (campfire), there could be a chance of light rain, but then in the dark forest (haunted mansion), it would be light rain or heavy rain accompanied by thunder. This small change would make the map, and even the game feel so much better!
Lobby/Spawn Area
They could also add rain here, but I was thinking about sunny weather like bright light and that, or it could be cloudy and dark, but not like night dark, more like dim instead.
