Project -> Run -> MainScene is probably not the one you think it is? This is the one that gets used when you press the "play" button.

#

or press this one to run the current scene you are alooking at

im very perplexed on what my main scene is.

#

current scene shows everything as it should when i tried your suggestion (pressing that button) but what is marked as main scene has all of my stuff in it, just you know, gray.

final turtle
#

is the marked main scene the same scene?

white hemlock
#

i dont know

final turtle
#

does it even exist?

white hemlock
#

i dont know where you see your main scene

Project Settings -> Run -> MainScene

#

sorry i forgot "settings"

#

then look at the path and find it in your project to open it

white hemlock
#

alright so

#

it was the same scene

#

i cleared it and then ran and said select current

#

maybe something went wrong when i moved my file structure around

final turtle
#

probably

white hemlock
#

cause when i first opened this project i put a few things in and then was like why am i being so messy

#

and moved stuff around

final turtle
#

which is good :)

#

but i don't think it updates the name or path of the main scene reference

white hemlock
#

i guess not, but i wonder why i still had something when it loaded the ghost level.tscn

#

maybe i have two level.tscns wait

#

ok that was it

#

a previous version of the scene without light and environment was still around

#

and that was my main scene

#

that explains everything completely

#

how frusterating

#

thank you for the help micro.
