#Concerns seen in other social areas regarding DLCs

Jumping between the Official Forums and the Steam Forums I am seeing quite a few posts regarding this area, so I would suggest a clarification/explanation etc on what can and can't be done in this situation and what your plans are or being considered.

Some of the queries seen:

  1. Will PZ1 DLCs be compatible with PZ2 and if not why not ?
  2. Will PZ2 DLCs be almost identical content wise to PZ1 DLC ?
  3. How many of the PZ1 animals will be automatically a part of PZ2 via base game or free updates or will be in DLCs ?
  4. What will be the percentage between PZ1 animals and PZ2 animals in base game, future DLCs and planned total ?
  5. With the addition of Aquarium and Aviary animals how will the PZ2 DLC content be distributed ?

Personal Thoughts:
Before the announcement my own personal hopes were to have PZ1 DLC items compatible with PZ2 to give PZ1 DLCs a longer lifespan, but, I can understand that sometimes it isn't possible.

Suggestions to consider and why:

  1. Split up packs into Animal, Building and Career Challenges with potentially their own distribution cycle.
This allows people to choose which DLCs interest them or they are ready for etc. And it will let you the developer know where the money will come from the most.
  2. Have animal packs include at least 1 of each type of animal, or have separate animal type packs and release them closer together.
This is so that those that may be interested in a specific branch of animals can get the ones they are interested in and those that what all types in each pack will be happy too.

To make PZ1's DLCs compatible with PZ2 would require complete remakes of the content within

I'm split on this... ON the one hand I'd love to see the Coyotes, Tanukis and stuff in the sequel as guaranteed. Oh and then there is the Striped Hyena one of my favorite animals from the PZ1. Yet I'm also looking forward to new content. So yeah, I personally think as painful as it is to say: they should focus on brand new DLCs maybe put one (or two if they're generous) species from PZ1 in the new content... Also, I know people are not too happy about it but I suspect they will resell animals... Its the way business/capitalism works~

I believe we can solidly answer the 1st question as no, because that would require axolotls being in both the "PZ2" Conservation Pack and PZ2's Deluxe DLC

Apart from the why not part. If they have totally redesigned how the axolytl works it makes sense that it is treated as a different entity.

Well, PZ2 most likely doesn’t have the exact same systems as PZ1, so they’ve most likely made it from scratch

I’ve seen it elsewhere and by my pal LionRider that at the end of the day, and I agree with the notion, that as long as we get a confirmation from Frontier Devs that they plan on adding back all animals by a certain date range I’m chill with that. I like working with a smaller palette to start but obviously I’d want everything we have had in PZ1 back eventually. But if they need time to redo anything or rerig or update I’m happy with that. Just give us the comfort in knowing they’ll come back lol. Don’t mind if we need to pay but just care about not waiting years in the dark for a Somali wild ass lol.
