As an user who plays the game on an iPad too, I can literally feel that. And one thing I learn here is that, apparently that can still happen even on an iPad with the physical home button (I can tell because there’s no clear bar at the bottom of the screen, and mine is with it & without the home button). Honestly that should never be the case because such accident can interrupt the gaming

There’s another Sonic game on the same platform which one can’t be easily interrupted by it, so should Rumble!

I'll admit initially I didn't like 06, mainly because I got stuck on part of Shadow's story. However I took a break and came back to it. Everything, aside from some gameplay elements, is incredible. Easily one of my Top 5 Sonic Games. There is so much more to it than that, but I genuinely like 06.

Forces was the first Sonic Game I actively 100%ed, and I'm happy to have all the avatar skin pieces. There is so much to like about it, and imo a great start for new Sonic fans to ease into the series' gameplay.

Praise aside, I'm not blind to the criticism, and it is deserved in most degrees. However there is too much for me to like in both that the pay-off is worth it.

Yep, so same. Actually. For the longest time I did hate the classics. However, I gave them another go with Sonic Origins and, they are fine to me. They get better as the series goes, but unpopular opinion, CD is my favourite classic game.

And that's ok. I love CD's multi-ending conditions, and once I knew where certain sign posts were, it's a great mechanic switching levels from past to future. Also the music is so freaking good. And Amy and Metal.

Yeah, and that's the thing. As far as I'm aware, Sonic was advertised to be fast, because it directly rivalled Mario in the game market. So seeing fast hedgehog meant the system performed better. However when actually playing, you can absolutely go fast if you know the levels and how to keep momentum. Otherwise treat it like an active platformer: don't stop on each platform, but try to carry yourself quickly from section to section.

Also the classic games couldn't have much, replayability? So the trial and error aspect of dying so much was that mechanic. You will die alot. But if you know that in advance, the learning curves is less frustrating.
