#BMG gears grind down filement after 5-6 of load/unload sequences

ASA filement so it’s softer than PLA.

The print always failed if there are more than 5-6 of total filement swap of a lane.

Is there a way to fix this?

You could try reducing run current on the extruder until the motor looses steps before the filament grinds

Looks to me like you need more tension on the BT extruder. Make sure you remove any damaged sections of filament before doing any additional tuning or you’ll be fighting yourself.

Also, adjust your anti-squish screw in further if that’s limiting your tension

I have this problem too when there are a lot of filament swaps. I have had it with PLA. I wondered about the anti squish screw. What is the down side of screwing it in all the way? Also what are people having the most success with for tensioning the extruder gear?

without the anti-squish it can be difficult to get the filament to grab during loading

eh, I will offer a contrary opinion here.

the antisquish screw was added becuase people applied too many uggas and were crushing the filament. early closed betas did not have it. it was also a lot bigger 😂
