Im Currently Setting up my Hotend values. I drawn out all my measurements. I feel like i went to big on my Variable Specs. If someone can verify my Numbers for me that be great. Thank you

So if you calculate your tool_stn to the very end of your nozzle you will more than likely have extra filament come out during loading, maybe target somewhere in the middle to see how that works and then adjust from there.

Your tool_stn_unload might be too, large. It should be from where your pushback start to alittle above your toolhead sensor. Make sure this does not retract back too much and its sitting right above your sensor. Making tool_stn_unload too large can cause your filament to fully retract out of your BT extruder gears.

Cutter values look fine, retract back length might be too much. Another value that you will have to play with to get the tip small and at the same time not cause clogs when pushing back down.

Okay gotcha

#

what would you put for the numbers?

#

tool stn 45mm im going to start with

plush zinc
#

quick guess would be this
tool_stn - 70
tool_stn_unload - 80
retract_length - 30
pushback_length - 20

#

Then see how it does and tune from there

sounds good thank you will give this a try

So I got some decent progress compared to where I started. I can now load and unload my t0 lane. But when loading t1 (lane 2) right after it gets to my filament sensor stops and acts like it's loaded. And doesn't extruder any plastic as the tool head extruder can't grab the filament. Any ideas on what setting that can be? I raised my stn unload to make it work but maybe to far now I slowly raised it 15mm to 110mm. Over a couple tests and got the unload to work. My tool stn is 70mm currently. Also lane 2 (t1) when I unload it box turtle says it's loaded not locked after

I've looked in the discord history for info on this and I find a lot of ways to solve it but seems to be very system specific solutions. I've tried a bunch changes but now I'm lost and here I am lol

What hotend and extruder are you using? That might give us a starting point. But even with that, the actual values will vary from measurements, especially due to cutting. For retract length, you want to keep the blob in that first metal part of the nozzle/heat break assembly. Pushback will be somewhat less than that. The unload value should be tweaked until filament reliably unloads just past the toolhead sensor (I often to a bit further so it's just visible in the ptfe tube above the tool head). tool_stn is often around the measured distance minus the pushback length. Ideally on load, that value should prime the nozzle with the remnant from the unload almost coming out of the nozzle. It's too high if you get a lot of stringing on load and it's too low if filament takes a bit to flow when priming or pooping.

so the extruder is my stock sv08 extruder built into a new tool head

im using the micro swiss hotend plug and play for the sv08 with this

#

so currently i have tool_stn 70 tool_stn_unload at 115 var_retract_30 and var_pushback at 20

i got some better results

#

i lowered my tool stn to 65 and tool_stn_unload to 110 and i got minimal oozing on load. i can prob lower stn by a few mm to stop that. But for the 1st time i can load and unload both lane 1 and 2 and have it locked and loaded after doing both

#

should adjust the stn futher for the what i estimate to be 5mm of filament that gets ejected during load or the pushback and retract setting?
