I'm struggling during printing with filament changes. When it's loading filament I'm finding that my Lane respolers spin too fast and I'd like to slow them down. It creates a big portion of slack on the spools. Here's a photo of a screenshot of my configuration I thought might help. I'm just not sure which direction to make the change. 0.5 was the default and I've moved it to 0.48 thinking it would slow it down some. But I didn't seem to notice much difference and I'm curious what you guys suggest. You'll also notice when you look at my config that I have reversed the motors for the respoolers in the configuration because they seem to spin the wrong direction.

I'm thinking I should change the FWD but I have myself confused because I've reversed things
I'm wondering if I should just redo the connectors so that the motor spin the proper direction and not have to manipulate firmware for the direction?
it's up to you, the end effect is the same re: direction
remind me if this is a self source kit or an ldo one?
No I fully built and sourced everything
I just basically want to slow down the respooler motor when I'm doing the filament change so I was thinking I was in the right area experimenting?
yes, you can do that
try something like 0.3 or even 0.1
Unloading and respooling works okay. It's just when I'm loading new filament to the tool head I get a big loop of slack
it's possible you got not-spec N20 motors ...
It's possible that I received what I didn't order
It's not super off it just needs some adjustment
It's just weird though because I thought I had my polarity correct when I was on the test bench using a basic power supply
But if that's the only thing that was reversed I think I did all right lol
I also see in here that it has default material temps
How does this configuration know what temperature is in material to use?
Does it somehow read it from the slicer
You can set material with the "SET_MATERIAL" macro, if you are using spoolman then it pulls the material type from spoolman https://github.com/ArmoredTurtle/AFC-Klipper-Add-On/blob/main/docs%2Fcommand_reference.md#set_material. Also there is a default option that has been added and is testing in dev for when you don't have material set
We good here then?
Sorry yes we're good
