#How to send restart in X mins message to The Isle
19 messages · Page 1 of 1 (latest)
I have tried to add the command as a schedule so it would warn users about the restart in 5 mins, but the command does not work. The server still gets restarted, but without the announcement in game.
Could anyone guide me on what I am doing wrong here to have the announcement pop in game?
Having no experience with The Isle, but from many other games, the / would be your issue.
I have tried without it too, nothing seems to work 🫠
If you copy paste what you have into your server console directly, does it work for you?
nope
Right so schedules aren't the issue. The issue is sending commands to your server
When I try using the isle rcon app it works sending the announcement, it's just on the panel itself doesn't seem to work
the first two are me forcing the commands on console, the other is when using the rcon app for the isle
What is the actual command for announcing via server chat?
For example, Rust is say Message not /announce or anything of that nature
@covert ore
@junior nova I've tried say and Say now as well, still nothing sadly
after looking at some documentations from 3rd party server hosters, the command seems to just be announce <message> or say <message> where <message> is your message
if the in-game chat doesn't seem to display the message, check if the pterodactyl console has RCON running in the foreground by manually typing that command.
If you don't see the message after typing it in the pterodactyl console, then the console is not displaying the RCON process, but instead displaying the logs.
you unfortunately have to modify the egg, container, or startup command in-order for pterodactyl to follow the RCON console process inside the container
^^
I just created a cron job to send the messages matching the restart time, editting the egg for that is way beyond my knowledge 😅 ty for all the help tho!
which egg were you using btw?
