I am working on an egg and noticed a plugin used by a game depends on getting user ID and home directory using /etc/pwd. I found this old feature request https://github.com/pterodactyl/wings/pull/197
was wondering how this is enabled or how I can verify this mount exists.

It's not in a released version of wings yet. So if you want to use that you need to compile yourself, and then enable it in the wings config.yml

darn. have there been any workarounds. would I be able to create the mount myself along with the file? for the purpose of updating the egg

You might be able to manually make a file for it and mount it using the panels mounts system.
But honestly, if it was me I'd just compile wings.
Either way you need to be aware that you egg won't work on other peoples systems unless they do the same
Altho, if you are making your own docker image for it, you can use the wrapper.. one sec
This yolk uses the NSS wrapper to inject its own fake /etc/passwd file in at run time.
