Dterminal.ansi=true $( [[  ! -f unix_args.txt ]] && printf %s "-jar {{SERVER_JARFILE}}" || printf %s "@unix_args.txt" ) ```
#

sry

#

copied the wrong one ( from a paper server )

daring geyser
#

proven plover
#

#

#

Please explain the issue you're experiencing in as much detail as possible. Preferably with error messages in a text format or paste link to logs. Nobody can assist you without information that helps to understand the issue. Help us help you. Messages such as "doesn't work" or "i need help" will most likely be ignored.

wait now it starts idk well thanks anyway .. just did a reinstall

#

i still dont know where he finds the server.jar in here

daring geyser
#

It doesn't. The startup command for the forge egg ignores any server jar when there is a unix_args.txt file and uses that to start the server

proven plover
#

oh ok well mb

daring geyser
#

If it was looking for the server.jar file before, then your unix_args.txt did not exist and something had gone wrong with your original install

proven plover
#

guess i didnt let it install proper or deleted it cause my unix file was at the default place nested deep

#

thx a lot now to help it not crash on startup that's my job

#

thx 🙂

#

other question sorry if weird but i dont seem to be able to edit text files nativelly when in the folder manager but i can for .bat or sh ones do i need to add something or toggle smth ?

daring geyser
#

What file are you trying to edit, and what happens when you try to edit it ?

proven plover
#

just doesnt show the hand icon when hovering it and in this case it's the mentioned unix_args.txt

#

and cant click it

daring geyser
#

Suggests the panel isn't detecting it as a text file.
Is your panel up to date ?

proven plover
#

would guess so installed it 2 days ago

daring geyser
#

What happens if you just change the url in your browser to go to the file

#

like click on one of the other files to edit, and then just change the filename in the url

Weird. Grab the wings logs

zinc sageBOT
#

You'll need to grab error logs for Wings and share the link with us. The following command will help you collect the required information for debugging: sudo wings diagnostics

proven plover
#

is it maybe protected smh like cause the egg install created it maybe

#

gimme a min for the log

daring geyser
#

yeah no rush

daring geyser
proven plover
#

maybe cause server is using the file and it cannot open it while idk just trying stuff

daring geyser
#

Could you please grab me the output of this
ls -aslh /var/lib/pterodactyl/volumes/3a40e094-fb70-4fcc-a999-d334e6ae7e21/unix_args.txt

proven plover
#

guess it's juste like a shortcut to the nested one

#

or smth

daring geyser
#

Yeah its what's called a "symlink"

#

Wings does some stuff to handle symlinks special for security reasons. Looks like it's mis-handling this case.

#

We'll look into it some time

proven plover
#

np so just to fix it my side just go edit the source

#

ig

daring geyser
#

Yeah you can just edit the nested file it points to

proven plover
#

( btw yes nested one edit works )

daring geyser
#

It's not that niche, just haven't seen it yet because the issue was introduced recently in the filesystem re-write

proven plover
#

well thanks anyway and have a nice day 🙂
