#Using Proxmox to host game servers and Pterodactyl

Typically it will be the same as without proxmox.
I saw someone mention running it as a container is better, this is where I am confused. Should I just start a VM and install it like that, or is there something I can do with containers for it?
I believe Wings will run in a Proxmox LXC container as long as you enable nesting.
Containers have less overhead so will typically be faster.
Ok, so a VM for the panel, and container for Wings?
A container for the panel and another container for wings
I ran Ptero on one VM and wings on another VM. Worked fine without nesting, unless it was enabled by default.
I don't remember explicitly enabling it
It needs nesting for cgroups I believe. If you had OOM Killer enabled you might not have noticed the problem.
yep
Sorry, this may be a really stupid question, but how do I start installign it as a container?
Is it somewhere on Pterodactyl site?
If you're new to this you'll want to use the latest LTS Version of Ubuntu Server as the container for each since that's geared towards new Linux Users and the default documentation for Pterodactyl is for Ubuntu.
You make the container and then you can just follow docs inside it.
Ok, thank you. Yes, I am very new to this, never really messed with self hosting before
