I'm not sure how I feel about the whole thing (especially mining bedrock), but one thing I really like is:

Collector drones don't work half the time, so you NEED to automate digging out the entire map under any resources to be able to collect them.
ie. that you're suggesting a core change to the process of playing.

Also: have you tried doing a Worker-less run? Unfortunately, I still need to unlock the "pipes" building to for it to be doable, and I have some sort of bug with my Daybay.

The precision laser can already destroy bedrock
Holly molly, either that's a big bug, or it changes everything.
No more being at mercy of a long snaking cave.
