Current Eyeclops deals extreme damage with its laser compared to previous builds. I am unsure when the change was made, but presently, it will clip you for hundreds of damage. I understand the beam can be easy to avoid, if you have the right leg meats, but presently, it feels oppressive to go against.
I am unsure if this is a bug, because beams and projectiles have been phasing through enemies at times, or just not registering for damage on them (possibly due to connection, but cannot confirm).
But it is very frustrating for you to be full health, and then suddenly be at 10% health with no meat and with no warning because an eyeclops was behind you.
I vaguely remember beams previously just dealing ticking damage against you, still heavy, but also with warnings (the robotic tower enemy had a tracking line and then shot its beam, for instance). But right now, just getting touched by an eyeclops beam will result in upwards of 200-300 damage.
This is made even worse by the multiplayer upgrades no longer pausing, meaning you have to somehow find a safe spot to upgrade, which can be impossible due to the swarms and eyclopses (and healing enemies on top of that)
