Not sure if this is an issue on other devices but I find when playing on a Samsung device in order to minimise the game you have to swipe up the bottom of the screen to see and click the home button. But the swipe up action registers as a movement input ingame. So if your mining/woodcutting it often takes you off the resource and when you return to the game you realise your characters just been idling. Not an issue for combat if you have auto on as it resumes after the movement.

Not sure best fix but maybe that swipe movement can be ignored somehow or maybe the auto button could be cycled between off/combat/resources so you can auto farm resource and that movement doesn't matter.

Just use the Exit game button in menu

My point is more I don't play any other idle games that will punish me for not using a specific exit procedure. It's not a great feeling to be excited to wake up to a nice stack of logs and instead wake up to nothing. Suggesting as that could be a quiting moment for players.

just open your inventory/map when tabbing out, the input gets eaten by that screen and stops the issue

I have the same issue. It's happened to me in other games over the years as well. Hopefully this helps but, the way I work around it, I swipe quickly, retap the tree to trigger the farming action and then hit the 3 lines or back button before it disappears. This way it negates the input as a "walk here" input.

*** Just need to be conscious of this everytime you need to backout/exit.
