When editing multiple note clips, it’s possible to edit notes on filtered and hidden layers.
The filter button correctly prevents directly selecting the filtered notes by clicking on them or dragging over them with the mouse.
But you can select notes in all layers, filtered or not, hidden or not, in at least these two ways:
- Cmd-A selects all notes in all of the clips, even in the filtered and hidden layers.
- Clicking on a piano key selects all notes with that pitch, even in the filtered and hidden layers.
Once selected, these notes are affected by the usual editing actions, such as Scaling, Quantizing, Transposing, and so on.
As a result, it is possible to edit notes in filtered layers and, even more surprisingly, in hidden layers.
