We will make most Dear Reality plugins available free of charge here. They can be downloaded and used without restriction upon registration for the Sennheiser AMBEO newsletter below.

Some very neat plugins that are now available

  • DearVR Pro does binaural panning. I've used the cheaper dearvr music previously and it's fun to play around with, especially in the horizontal orientation. Vertical panning didn't work well, but my understanding is that's par for the course with these tools that don't measure individual heads
  • DearVR Mix is a virtual mixroom for mixing on headphones. Just tried this and it has a bunch of IRs for headphone correction built in, the effects of the rooms were fairly subtle which I think is a good thing, I think it's mostly the crosstalk that is the useful part. It also has some spaces designed for non-ideal mix references like car listening. Their car reference is probably the nicest car sound system I've ever heard, my experience is most of them sound rubbish. Either way I think this is a potentially very useful tool to have for headphone mixing.
  • Exoverb is an IR reverb, with some sort of morphing abilities although sounded glitchy when moving the controls, so probably best thought of as a traditional IR reverb set.
  • Miya is a live audio resynthesis tool, from my first impressions seems best to think of it as a very digital distortion - sounds very unique. Although I can't see myself putting it into a regular rotation of tools I can see using it for a transition here and there

Discover Dear Reality from Sennheiser. Impressive sound awaits!
