You can change most of what you have concerns over, right click on the headers to disable the colour fill and disable the clip launcher then click the enable big meters button to show them

The display toggle options are just as conveniently located... you are just not used to the new location. I prefer the new location cause it is not as cramped as before. The only change I would suggest is now there is room for the icons to be a bit bigger.
In 5.1, you can now drag the fader section to be taller. A handy addition.
More useful even, you can adjust the size of the track widths. This means you can now show close to twice as many tracks at once as before.
You can now select multiple tracks and directly edit level, pan, solo, mute and arm right there instead of having to go to the Inspector. You can also set send levels for multiple tracks at once where before you had to do them one at a time.
Also, now when you solo a track, the whole fader area gets dimmer and it is more visible that a track is solo'ed and which one than before.
With all these nice improvements, you would really go back to 5.0 because of a few minor cosmetic changes?
