I'm not sure if the join code is case sensitive, but it seemed so when we played. The join button stayed grayed out when I entered the code. It should not be case sensitive, just force upper casing on.
Also, 'O' and '0' look 100% exactly the same. Friend said the code was xxx003, but the join button remained gray. So I tried all possible combinations, and turns it the right code was xxxO03... I say just prevent 0, O, or both from being generated, but at least change the font so you can at least distinguish the two.
The code should be viewable once you host the lobby.
It's also not intuitive the way you join coop, for the longest time we couldn't figure out you are supposed to click on the code to type it in - I assumed it was a static text showing my own lobby code... IMO it would be better if the join button was active at all times, and would show a seperate window upon clicking it where you can type in the code instead.

This is a very common problem with the Co-op, and i’m sure the developers are working on it for the next alpha test. In the meantime, here’s a few things to help you out.
-Code is always uppercase.
-Using the “best” region is not always the best choice. Use the region closest to you and your friend.
-If the code is correct, the game takes a few seconds to search and confirm that the lobby is open. Be patient and wait about 30 seconds.
-The font used for code entry does have 0 and O mixed up. what i recommend is remaking/editing the code to make it easier to understand.
-Write down the code or type it out first before pressing invite.
-Don’t be afraid to ask for help!
I hope this list helped you!
Now that we know the ins and outs, its no problem any more, but for first timers, it can be a showstopper, we almost gave up.
