When you place monkey king and sell him you should be able to replace him.
Im getting this bug in elemental caverns so im not sure if it applies to the other story, legend etc stages
it does affect my gameplay alot especially in shibuya and solo leveling maps cause you gotta replace the units to stop mahito/statues
