The Cult of Knowing(placeholder name) is an antagonist similar to other Cults, such as that if Nar'Sie, Rat'Var, and {THE UNKNOWN}, but wildly different in their gameplay. Even how this antagonist starts is unique. This antagonist takes a lot of concepts from eldritch/cosmic horror novels such as "The King In Yellow" and "Call of Cuthulu"
BLOOMING KNOWLEDGE
Unlike other antagonists where a random person is picked to be the originator, this antagonist ruleset instead relies on somone finding a trigger. They may find a strange book on a random shelf, they may find an odd statue resembling an old god, previously unknown. They may see a photo of some ancient rite that triggers a memory... either way, It is triggered by an infohazard. Once someone has learned of the cult, they are instantly consumed by the desire to teach its gospel, and from there the fun begins(also in theory there's a chance that the trigger item spawns and nobody finds it, meaning nothing happens lol).
CONVERSION
People who are infected with the Infohazard can begin to produce books, statues, and other things that spread the knowledge. People who aren't mindshielded will fall prey to it eventually, however, Blindfolded people or eyeless individuals cannot see those hazards.
ABILITIES
Unsure. I do think a reagent that turns things to marble like that of "The King In Yellows" "The Mask" would be cool and would be a source for ghost roles, but other then that, TBD
(Also by making this antagonist suggestion, am I spreading the concept of The King In Yellow thus fulfilling its whole infohazard thinf? Fuck man i don't know)
