Client - Weird stuttering followed by long bursts of gunfire

me and my other friends have been having issues with what are long bursts of game freezing for roughly 4-5 seconds, followed by a massive spam of gunfire, the gunfire ends up glitching other sounds in the server such as when we fire our guns the guns make no noise anymore.

we had it happen roughly 3 times over our 4 hour session tonight
