Not enough information really here... Are you done loading in game? (I.E. the map is done loading on your end and it says waiting for additional players?)
Is everything configured correctly?
Are you able to start and join your own game if you set it to 1 player?
Without any additional info I would assume its a firewall issue (quite common) and you'll need to open ports to allow the game to work properly.
