• FIKA Version: 0.9.8910
• AKI version: 3.8.3
• Port Forward

• Explain Problem: I have the server hosted on my network. Some friends can host, some can't. Sometimes there isn't someone online to host a raid, so I'm trying to get everyone set up to host. When trying to host they get the error "Unable to connect, make sure you don't already have the ports open"

• What have I tried so far: Port Forwarded UDP 25565 in their router and my router, as well as reserved IP for the devices. DOKDOR's Firewall Fixer and the extra steps provided of manually adding the ports to the firewall. We have also turned on/off UPnP in the F12 settings menu.

those friends have to have 25565 forwarded to themselves too

^ UDP
The fact you hold the server doesn't remove the requirement for them to have those ports that port opened for such task

Sorry, i should have clarified. They do have the port forwarded in their router

Well, ask them to use port checkers, via websites or the tool we provide in #udp-tester, ask them to restart routers, yadda-yadda, ya know, network stuff.

canyouseeme showed the port was closed, but it does for me as well even though I can host fine

#

will try udp tester

#

to be clear with the udp tester, you need to host the raid with upnp enabled and the port entered in the f12 menu. Then another user can enter their IP and port to test if its open?

You don't need to even host a game, it's a simple exe to host and join connection.
I do not know does is support UPnP however.

#

Take a closer look on that archive

i ran it to test and it just says Connecting to: <ip> on port 25565

#

and yes, i allowed it through firewall

#

i imagine its supposed to give a pass/fail?

Well, if you ran a client, your friend ran a server and you didn't manage to connect, that means your friends ports are not open after all.

#

for sanity check, clarifying - udp tester server and client, not EFT ones whatsoever

aha, testing

Figured out the issue. Apparently he has 15000 routers he was connecting through. Got him connected directly to the main router, port forwarded and now its working.

yeah, that'd do it
