I just had a full run with missing evolutions (technically I think the first choice or 2 did show correctly? but after that it was a game of guessing based on keywords. Every single time.)
tried re-adding the rarity animations from the settings, and that didn't help (re-disabled again after a few, again, no change). The animations worked fine, the cards just didn't show.
The evolutions showed correctly from the pause menu, when choosing attacks, etc. but not when actually choosing an evolution (when unlocking something like the charm or sharpening claws, the second part where it shows just the 1 evolution also still showed as ? instead of actual details card).
This run was after a few runs that went completely fine. Actually went back to pressure 1 for this one, whereas the other ones all were at the heighest pressure available to me (which isn't many, but in case it's relevant).

I couldn't find how to make a bug report from the menu during a run, only once I was done and back in the main menu.

we would need the BugReport to debug that 🙁

You can activate it at any time by just pressing F1 (you can also open the pause menu with Escape and press the button)

The important thing though is hitting it as soon as the issue happens

I've closed the game since and re-opened and it's fine now

I did get this debug info once I was in the main menu, in case there's still anything helpful there

it just happened again. this is while I'm still in the evo menu, so haven't confirmed I'll have to deal with it for the entire run yet.

I think both times I had Patient, though this time I might've not even used it once before the bug happened (kinda forgot I picked it)

ok, while stuck all the way to the end, a new run (without restarting the game) starts fine

You also have Patient in real life.

so you're right that in the both run you had Patient.

I noticed a couple of potential things:

You use the X button on gamepad to skip
It looks like it may have tried triggering Skip multiple times (were you spamming the button perhaps?)

@stuck dome can you bug this and look into if you can repro it by spamming X?

I also had Patient in my run with the same bug. Could've been spamming X to grab shrooms.

yeah I'm suspecting this is the cause.

I reckon the shortcut might be bypassing something and getting it stuck

I will also mention I've seen this happen once in the demo - thought it might've been me

Not using a controller, though Steam probably has memorised a controller scheme via Steam Play Together - not sure if that can have an effect

Good news:

We have a hotfix coming in for this in the next couple of days. Basically it's caused by spamming the skip button while using the Patient Genetic before the evolutions properly load

It seems easier to do on controller but good to know it's caused on KBM too!
