We already know the hazmats (or whatever their called) were experimenting on the bugs but since we just left the yeeps 1.0 world i think they left the bugs in their cages, if they did then by this time they've already laid eggs and probably evolved into more powerful bugs that are capable of digging, if they get smart enough (more evolution) they can use mind control or just force the last remaining hazmats to open the portal to yeeps 2.0 and invade gnome capital (and maybe even go to the home map)
