So instead of an 'archery' tower, it should be a 'weapons' tower. When you drop the human on top of the tower, it shows a menu of four options. Magic, Range, Animal, and Melee. There would be a ton of different extensions like in Melee it can start with sword, then it can go into spear or mace, etc.
And the extra skill points can be spent on upgrading said weapons. Just a small idea

**(early game) Tier 1: **
Fire tower ( Increase Crit or increase damage but only targets one guy )
Water Tower ( AOE Damage )
Earth Tower ( Creates a wall that has half HP of normal walls and throws small stones that does small amounts of damage when the wall is deployed ) Wind Tower ( No Damage but pushes enemies back with knockback, of course bigger goblins or creatures it can't. )
Ice Tower ( Freezes enemies in place and does a small posion like damage system that's knocks 1 HP per 1 to 3 seconds. )
(Mid Game) Tier 2:
Just a in-general upgrade of stats.
**(End Game) Tier 3: ** ( To get tier 3 you must explore other worlds ( not the starting one ) and each world only has 1 type of each staff type stone that travels with you. ether there would be a outright limit of how many tier 3 towers you can have or a stone limit of 1 to 3 of each type though.
Fire Tower ( Can now call in Firery Phinoxes that does AOE damage )
Water Tower ( Calls on a MASSIVE WAVE that pushes back enemies and cause a good amount of damage )
Earth Tower Creates a stronger wall of EARTH and still throws small rocks, but every 3 throws it will throw a larger boulder that can kills all small to medium size enemies )
Wind Tower ( Calls a tornado that throws enemies around and causes a short moment of where they can't move. )
Ice Tower ( Calls on a blizzard that freezes multiple enemies at once.
this is only for staff towers, i can think of other ideas for other towers.
For earth tower, maybe the small stones can have shrapnel in end game, it gains shrapnel too?
And maybe for Water end game it can slow enemies, unlike the wind where it stops them,
Fire for their two could gain fire damage over time
Also maybe a water tier two could be more damage delt when struck by lightning
But all of these are pretty fair and cool ideas

i was orginally think ICE TOWER for the slowing down part and wind be the knock back tower and tier 3 being a tornado that randomly throws them back and does fall damage. and then water be another form of knockback at teir 3 but it pushes larger ememies.

Adding onto this idea for everyone here, maybe there could be an RNG based factor? Like say you can select 'magic' and you get staff. You can press a button like says 'unlock element' in the magic menu and it can randomly unlock earth water wind or fire. and then say you unlock fire and it branches. Now the randomization pool is magma, ember, water, earth, wind.
Same with Melee and Ranged and Tamer (animal one)
So really, this is just an armory
And if blueprints get added, it could extend onto this. Like when you unlock a blueprint it gives you a special element in the random pool like 'dark energy' for magic or 'Excalibur' for sword

idk, i was just giving my ideas on this, being Fire, Earth, Wind, Water and Ice. then being in stages. first stage is week, first stage is boosted states and the final stage of them all giving them special abilities theme around it. all being a mix of Damage, crowd control and AOE damage. or combo version of theses.
Like yeah i know a bit of programming and game development, so i'm tossing my own hat into this of ideas and thoughts.
