Day 23: I wasn’t expecting much at first because I hadn’t heard of it till the beta came out. I was playing overwatch as my main hero shooter for a long time and was burnt out and disappointed by their lack of promised updates and content so I tried Rivals in hopes this was something better. I was surprised by the effort the team put into the game and how much they give us. New heroes and skins, continuous balance updates, constant new events and game modes! I felt like a kid in a candy shop and I was actually having fun. Overwatch broke my heart, but Rivals came and made me forget about that stinker of a game.

Day 23: When this game was announced, after the flop that was the Avengers game that I loved until the lights went off, I hated the idea because I didn't want the IP wasted on a competitive shooter. THEN I got into the closed beta after the initial alpha impressions seemed good and the character design seemed to show a love of the Marvel Brand. Once I played 15 mins of the closed beta I was hooked.
Been playing nearly every day since and it has rekindled a love for gaming that had been dormant for a couple of years. As someone that is half retired in his mid 40s, my friends have determined that his is my "golf" as well as my time to grow friendships. 🥰
This game isn't perfect, but it's ideal for me, especially with PvE modes incoming!

Day 23: My first impression of Marvel Rivals was one of being completely overwhelmed. While the game's menus are blessedly easy to navigate, my first actual match felt like being thrown into a hurricane with all that was going on. Immediately after getting passed that initial stage of confusion, I was blown away by how... right the game felt. All the characters were given believable stories for how they ended up there, the overarching plot made sense with the timestream entanglement, and each character's abilities felt very natural given what I'd expect of them from the comics. It was also really cool to see some lesser known characters like Cloak & Dagger or Magik. I was just blown away by the polish the game had in that regard.

While Wanda quite literally throws an entire section of the map into chaos with her ult, and Deadpool can annoy you from miles away, nothing will ever compare to the absolute madness that comes from Jeff's ult. Every Jeff main shares one braincell between them, and even when the one in my game has a monopoly on it, you never know what's going to happen. Just to be clear, I love the little guy, but he is Chaos incarnate.

Day 25: My favorite overtime moment happens when there is an unusual ultimate interaction with the point. There have been so many times when one team is juuuust managing to keep people on the point and extend overtime when, for example, their Jeff will try to ult and gobble up everybody in the area. But Jeff in his ult form cannot hold point, and this inevitably causes them to lose. It's not always Jeff. I've seen Mr. Fantastic bounce himself so high that he was out of bounds, a similar moment with Bucky accidentally ult jumping out, Magneto trying to bonk his way to victory and leaving point. It goes on and on, and it always makes me laugh. Everybody has those moments where tunnel vision sets in and we slip up in an attempt to salvage the moment.
