I played last night, did some final unlocks on the tech tree, this morning when I opened the gasme it took a lot longer than usual, then it asked me to create a character again, which I did and saw my old character was gone.

Please check that you’re logging into the same region you chose when creating your character. Characters (and their inventory/tech tree) are tied to the region and won’t appear if you switch regions; only Trampler blueprints are shared across characters.
If you’re in the correct region and it’s still missing, please share more details here so we can investigate:
- What happened and the exact steps before/after you last logged out
- Your server/region and whether you were solo or in a party
- Any screenshots/videos
- A link to your Steam account

After I was done with a solo mission, II went to the menu and said Exit To Desktop. After this message I clicked on "Change Region" several times and still went to my character I created this morning. I don't want to play now if I might loose this progression as well. I think I may have encountered the same issue.
Today I was playing solo and had several connection problems during the session. I frequently had the plug/disconnect icon visible on my screen.
I died in PvP and another player took over my Trampler. After that I returned to the menu. When I restarted the game later, my character was completely gone and the game takes me directly to the character creation screen.
I cannot check or change my region because I no longer have a character and the game only shows the character creation screen.
Before this happened, I had just unlocked the Energy Cell technology in the tech tree after farming the required materials for a long time.
I have not created a new character yet because I am worried it could make recovery of my original character more difficult.
Has anyone found a solution, or can a moderator check if this might be related to the same character-loss issue?

Yeah and I'm afraid it will happen again and loose everything again. Because if you delete a character you have 24 hours, but in this case he is just gone

Update: I found my character.
The issue was the selected region. At first I couldn't check or change it because the game was taking me directly to the character creation screen, so it looked like my character had been deleted.
Later I managed to access the region selection menu, switched back to the correct region, and my character with all progression was there again.
If anyone else has the same issue, make sure to check your selected region before creating a new character.
