@stoic escarp im here to express my love for CFT.

So here are the best strategies. considering speed isn't really an issue due to the simple fact that all stats are the same regardless of character, all that we need to take into consideration is signature kits as well as weapon combinations.

I feel that the meta is 1 defender, 1 attacker and 1 support. The support will defend when enemies try to grab your flag and chase enemies that have your flag, defenders will always defend the base where the flag spawns and attackers will always chase the flag and hold onto it whenever possible (passes are possible to supports with good ability to throw)

I feel that lance is pretty powerful in this game mode with it's aerial kit, it's grounded kit has a lot of active frames (except for slight which is extremely punishable). It's nair is fast, dair is faster and sair is great for punishing enemies. Vraxx sigs in general are pretty great so if it's lance you want to play then maybe stick to vraxx but if it's a weapon combination you're after then it's probably best to go Lance + Favourite Weapon (Unless that combination doesn't exist hattorisob). So in general, lance characters are great for defending and for me I personally prefer orion and his huge defensive signature kit. His SSig has big chase potential and Dsig & Nsig are great for enemies approaching.

Attackers honestly don't matter all too much considering they want to always go for the flag so honestly whatever weapon kit and signature kit you prefer, it's entirely subjective.

Supports should play fast weapons like Katars, Sword or Gauntlets (Probably other fast weapons but I can't think of them at the top of my head right now) In general just synergise good signature kits with good weapon combinations. I personally play asuri when supporting just because i love her sigs and weapons so damn much. Anyways GL 👋 sorry for the wall of text ^^

The game is far to short. Unless both teams actually have strategy, this game mode will always end quickly. I'd suggest having a second map perhaps, as well. For games with randoms, the narrow area for scoring the flags, can make it difficult to score due to a lack of areas you can really come in to score at. Lance, is pretty powerful in those tight spaces and seems to have an advantage over most other weapon's I've tried so far.

I don't know if it would make the game mode un fun or not, but I feel like making the flag bearer just a little slower, or perhaps slightly less eye frames might be useful. Taking the flag and just dodging about for eternity until your own flag is returned seems to be the best defense, and way to easy to do.

If I was to be giving tips on how to play I would use this list

  • Use a characters with large hit box sigs

*If on defense use xull, vraxx or sidra

*If you like cannon it is fun for defense because sair can let you go around

*Final tip, play with friends, when you are just random queuing you will likely not get people of your same skill level and you will have no actual plans on what to do as a team so just play with a group of friends because it is much more enjoyable
