I'm experiencing severe performance issues for quit a while, while playing Brawlhalla on my high-end PC, running Windows 11. Despite having a setup that significantly exceeds the game's requirements, I face intense lagging and stuttering shortly after starting to play. This problem isn't limited to the game; it extends to my entire PC, causing sound loss, disconnections of external devices such as controllers, keyboards, and mice, and occasionally leading to system crashes.

Here's what I've tried so far without success:

Updated BIOS to the latest version and ensured all drivers are up to date.
Adjusted in-game settings, experimented with V-Sync, and FPS limits.
Monitored hardware temperatures, which appear normal.
Verified the integrity of game files via Steam.
Tested all available Steam launch options.
Followed the Lag Issues instructions from the Brawlhalla Support page.
Checked that these issues persist in both online and offline modes, ruling out internet problems.

My PC specs are:

Processor: Intel i7 13700KF - water cooled
Graphics Card: RTX 4070 Ti
Motherboard: ASRock B760 Pro RS
RAM: 32GB 5600MHz DDR5

I've made sure my PC’s power supply is sufficient and that both Windows and the game are fully up to date. Unfortunately, the issue remains, and it's significantly affecting my gameplay experience.

for example in bh, if your fps is bellow 60 fps, even 59fps, your gonna experience a lot of latency

but anything higher than 60 is only going to improve latency the further you go

its complicated. the ELI5 is:

basically fps is your gpu spitting out frames as fast as it can and shoving it at your monitor to deal with it. your monitor wants to deal with it at 144 hz, or 144 times per second, or about once every 7 ms. it doesn't matter how many frames your gpu generates between 0 and 7 ms, the frame that was most recently generated at the 7 ms mark will be used.

now suppose your gpu generates a new frame exactly when the monitor renders one. the monitor starts to render the old frame, is halfway through rendering when it receives a new one and starts to render the new one. the split is known as screen tearing. by limiting fps = hz, it ensures only one frame is rendered per monitor cycle, and this never happens, also known as vsync.

the issue with vsync is offset. suppose your monitor renders a frame, and then 1 ms later your gpu gives it a new one. then 6 ms from that your monitor renders a new one, but this frame is 6 ms old so you get 6 ms of input lag. since both are in sync you will ALWAYS have 6ms of input lag. the way to counter this is higher fps because if you generate a new frame every 1ms, at most it will be 1 ms since the last frame was generated by your gpu from when monitor asks for it therefore at most 1 ms of input lag. however if it's 0 ms then you get screen tearing again. if you really care about competitiveness you'd prefer input lag to be as low as possible at any cost so don't use vsync.

however, gsync/freeync work differently, and actually talk to your monitor and give it a frame only when it asks, which means you will always have some input delay due to delay of communication and processing, which technically can be more than uncapped, but also can be less depending on lucky timings and monitor/gpu. there's also some niche effects like ghosting with some combinations of gpus and monitors, but in general if your not experiencing visual artifacting, just use gsync/freesync

edit: if nothing else works, pick a frame cap that's co prime with your refresh rate for math reasons. depending on gpu/monitor it can help reduce screen tearing at high fps.

I'm experiencing severe performance issues for quit a while, while playing Brawlhalla on my high-end PC, running Windows 11. Despite having a setup that significantly exceeds the game's requirements, I face intense lagging and stuttering shortly after starting to play. This problem isn't limited to the game; it extends to my entire PC, causing sound loss, disconnections of external devices such as controllers, keyboards, and mice, and occasionally leading to system crashes.

I reinstalled Windows 11, Updated BIOS to the latest version and ensured all drivers are up to date.
Adjusted in-game settings, experimented with V-Sync, and FPS limits.
Monitored hardware temperatures, which appear normal.

Tested all available Steam launch options.
Followed the Lag Issues instructions from the Brawlhalla Support page.
Checked that these issues persist in both online and offline modes, ruling out internet problems.

Question about elo in 2s. I was planning to grind to valhallan next season in 2s and to me, it makes sense to drop my personal elo to match my team elo so the gains are more even. Is this nessecary? The reason I ask is because if valhallan is determined by team elo and my personal elo is already 2300, while the team elo is 2000, I feel as though it would take a very long time to catch the team elo up the the personal. From my experience playing this also makes matchmaking much harder as you queue into 2400s while your team elo is still just at 2k. Is this a fair assumption or is this not something to worry about?

I live in india and use the SEA server and my internet is really good , still i get very poor ping(2 bars), this doesnt make the characters walk out of the platform but gives me very bad input lag, I tried everything from resetting router, vpn to another server, nothing seems to fix it . Although the last day i tried connecting to japan via vpn and then change the ingame servers and then play a game and reset it to sea after disconnecting the vpn , it seemed to solve it for that time being , now even if i repeat that , it doesnt work.

Hello, yesterday i was playing ranked and after game “eac banned you from playing this game mode” pop up. I tried to turn off any background programs(discord and geforce experience) and rerun the game few times, after this I checked the files restarted the steam and then it says that im banned and should try again in 7 days. Is it some sort of bug? I can understand if i was banned for toxic behaviour (idk if emotes are toxic behaviour) but what was that thing with eac ban? Cant check if im still banned with eac or not bc account is banned… any ideas how to get details of my ban or how to appeal it?

I am not sure if it is the update since I have never had this problem but I continue to frame drop or lag & whenever a KO effect occurs I lag super badly or the frame drops a bunch. I have never had this problem before this update. Would love help on this

oh yeah that's a thing

the first part of orion lance ssig is quite fast, so if the move gets cancelled (in this case by the yumiko's dsig) you get sent quite far regardless of damage

you can abuse it to get early KOs, like by using a slope underneath a map to cancel the move, sending your opponent straight down at high speed

it's really stupid, but technically not a bug/glitch- you could consider it to be an exploit though 😅

I'm experiencing severe performance issues for quit a while, while playing Brawlhalla on my high-end PC, running Windows 11. Despite having a setup that significantly exceeds the game's requirements, I face intense lagging and stuttering shortly after starting to play. This problem isn't limited to the game; it extends to my entire PC, causing sound loss, disconnections of external devices such as controllers, keyboards, and mice, and occasionally leading to system crashes.

Here's what I've tried so far without success:

I reinstalled Windows 11, Updated BIOS to the latest version and ensured all drivers are up to date.
Adjusted in-game settings, experimented with V-Sync, and FPS limits.
Monitored hardware temperatures, which appear normal.
Verified the integrity of game files via Steam.
Tested all available Steam launch options.
Followed the Lag Issues instructions from the Brawlhalla Support page.
Checked that these issues persist in both online and offline modes, ruling out internet problems.

My PC specs are:

Processor: Intel i7 13700KF - water cooled
Graphics Card: RTX 4070 Ti
Motherboard: ASRock B760 Pro RS
RAM: 32GB 5600MHz DDR5

I've made sure my PC’s power supply is sufficient and that both Windows and the game are fully up to date. Unfortunately, the issue remains, and it's significantly affecting my gameplay experience.
